Most of cargo insurance web-sites quote Total Loss rates because they are lower but your coverage is not full. Please, read our Cargo Insurance Types page about the difference between ALL RISK and TOTAL LOSS coverage. Generally, Total Loss only covers complete loss of cargo and will not repay for damages or partial loss. All Risk coverage is the most inclusive cargo insurance option.

EXAMPLE: You're importing TOYS (general merchandise) valued at $50,000 from CHINA (country in Asia) to USA via ocean container ship and you require ALL RISK insurance coverage. The Premium is 0.80% of $50,000 = $400.
EXAMPLE: You're exporting a MOTORCYCLE (vehicle) valued at $8,000 from USA to Poland (Europe) via ocean Roll-on Roll-off ship and you require TOTAL LOSS insurance coverage. The Premium is 0.70% of $8,000 = $56
